I actually have something to say. Kind of…mainly the summer cold that L. and I got from Mr. I began wearing off – finally.
Friday: I was able to score a 20% off Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon from one of my friends @ work (thanks Meredith), so after my half day of work I went out and picked up a Dyson DC-14. After deciphering the all languages pictures, I proceeded to vacuum the basement in amazement at what the sucker picked up. Truly amazing.
Friday night, we went to eat @ Bob Chin’s Crabhouse in Wheeling. Kind of a 6th anniversary dinner, but of course we had the boy with us. Quite good. Excellent service. Gigantic.
Saturday: Noticed that we were getting Showtime for free on our DirecTV, so I quickly tried to record everything I could find of interest. Mainly what I was interested in was David Fincher’s “Zodiac” because I’m a visual fan, and I think the story is captivating.
Sunday: Primarily an errand day, which was fine with me. Also, our 6th wedding anniversary. 6th! Yeesh, I’m old.
Monday: We promised Mr. I fishtanks on Friday but Bob Chin’s had no fishtanks. So we woke up early and went down to the aquarium. He had a great time and even got a shark tattoo on his forearm.
Aside from that, not too much else to report. I’m almost done with ‘Altered Carbon’ by Richard K. Morgan. I also was accepted to GTAC 2008 in Seattle (that would be 2 years in a row, for those that are keeping score). Mr. I has a dentist appointment tomorrow to check on his front chomper.

Mike completed his first off-road triathlon (will let him tell the story) but it was a pretty low-key weekend for me. I did get my first longish walk in the park by myself while my mum looked after James and then she took him for his first walk without me later on. That was nice – I called Jennifer in Ireland and had a wonderful distraction free 40 minute chat!
Am going to try and make the most of this week as Mike goes back to work tomorrow (I can’t believe a month has gone by already) and my parents go to New Mexico on Friday so henceforth it’ll just be me and the little man during the day – yikes!

Posted 02 Sep 2008 at 9:41 am ¶Yeah. I’ll second what Vince has to say. The first couple of times I was left alone with Mr. I, I was fairly freaked out.
But you eventually embrace it and move on. I do miss, being able to plop him in the baby carrier and give him the play by play @ the grocery store and the target.
Now Mr. I needs to be in the correct “mood” to sit in the shopping cart. Most of the time I use bribery in the form of books to defeat a dissenting mood.
Posted 02 Sep 2008 at 1:24 pm ¶has it already been 6 years since your wedding? wow….

Those shopping carts with the cars on the front are golden. It’s the only way Cal will stay in the cart.

Other favorite activity: Picking up things he doesn’t want so he can throw them.
Dad’s attempts at discipline are somewhat compromised by the fact that Dad finds this behavior pretty damn funny.
