Lara: Yes, I absolutely agree people should think more about what they say all the time. I think I had that in an initial draft of my comment, but for whatever reason, deleted it. :)

I also totally agree about Facebook. Although it did become a lot more tolerable once I realized I could filter people out, so now I think I only get updates from about 12 people. That is plenty. (It doesn’t help that so many people post their twitter status to their facebook. I only need to see it once! Argh.)

We (Pam, Joel, Mer and I – coworkers) were talking about this @ lunch today. Forums and methods of communication require different kinds of communication. It’s cool we have different vehicles but knowing the time and place to flex each is critical.

This makes me think that I should blog more. Twitter is amusing, but not as mentally challenging for me as blogging.

Pam,

I wish people would think more about what they say in general. Wouldn’t you agree?

I am actually getting seriously burned out on Facebook. Present company excepted, of course, I really could care less what’s going through the heads of all my friends at any hour of the day.

I also get really frustrated that for some people, facebook is now the only means of communication. For example, when I find out at a party that someone from law school just had a baby and everyone says, “What? You didn’t know? It was on facebook.” Blargh!

Even though I’m into blogging and am a frequent Facebook user, I’m just not enthused about Twitter – maybe that will change, but for now, I don’t feel the need.

I know there’s a huge difference between twitter and blogging, and there’s a scale thing, and blah blah whatever, but I often wish people would think more about what they say on twitter.
